Synopsis:
A plan to betray. A failure that destroys. A crown to melt.
Ece was promised a throne from birth. Her whole life, she has trained to become the draconian Matriarch, to take her mother’s title. Everything is in place: her gifts of the mind are unparalleled, her twin Alheri disgraced, her first mission upon her. All that is left is to trick the neighboring kingdom of Elementals to give up more land. If she succeeds, her crown is cemented. If she fails, she loses everything.
She fails.
Cast aside to the prison built from an abandoned city, Ece is left with the knowledge that her twin is stealing everything she has worked for. But meeting a resistance leader, Izar, has given Ece a plan. She no longer wants the crown. She wants the empire to burn.
Told in a twisting dual timeline, Ece’s story of a rising Matriarch to a disgraced traitor involves torture, betrayal, and love. The time for Matriarchs is over. Now, there is a throne to destroy. And Ece doesn’t care if she survives the fallout.
This work is being primed and polished, prepared for the BETA READER STAGE next. Beta reader stage commencing in April 2025!
Synopsis:
For the son of the Grand Knight Commander, war was inevitable.
Cedric’s father had been away at war for years, while Cedric sparred and trained on his own, awaiting the day he could claim his title as squire and make his father proud. But when his father finally returned, he brought with him an orphaned boy Cedric’s age. Though Cedric didn’t mind sharing a room with Rowan, he was uncertain about the change in his father. The same man who had boasted of Cedric’s skill with a sword was now trying to talk Cedric out of his destiny. Still, nothing could deter Cedric from his training. Nothing, of course, until the dangers from the war snuck right into the castle, forcing Cedric to see the reality of what being a knight was actually like.
Now, Cedric could begin his training in earnest, but there were too many questions: could he start down this path, even if it meant he would make the same mistakes his father did? Even if it meant leaving behind his family, risking his life, hurting the ones he cared about most? And, worse, how could he tell the others of such thoughts when there was supposed to be nothing more important than protecting his kingdom?
This story is being put aside in favor of other works; it will be up to query soon!
